A MANDURAH man (47) has been charged with possessing stolen fishing reels worth $4000 after he was arrested by police during Operation Sweep targeting crime hotspots last week. Senior Sergeant Dave Stephenson said it would be alleged the reels and other stolen property from an August 13 home burglary were in the man’s car when it was pulled over and searched on Dodd Street about 11am on August 20. The man has been bailed and will be summonsed to reappear at Perth Magistrates Court at a later date.
A THIEF said he was going to his car to get his wallet when he took off with two bottles of Penfolds wine worth $1650 from BWS bottleshop, Cambridge Street, on August 18. Police said the Caucasian man was seen selecting a cheaper bottle, which he left at the counter after saying he needed his wallet.
