FORMER John XXIII College Drama Captain Tahlia Norrish will move to London to continue her acting studies this month.

The Perth theatre and film actress is one of 30 students accepted to study a three-year BA (Hons) Acting course at leading British drama school Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance.

Tahlia grew up in Swanbourne and performed in her breakout role in The Owl (2013).

She recently finished touring WA with the play The Dreaming Hill, in commemoration of the ANZAC centenary.

Tahlia said she was interested in trying her hand at writing and directing, but her ultimate dream was to work for the National Theatre in London.

“I love to work across different mediums,” she said.

“I find thought-provoking and meaningful pieces especially rewarding.”

Tahlia spent a year at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts studying acting and musical theatre in 2013 and was awarded the 2014 Philip Holt Human Spirit Award.

The ambitious actress said she would spend her spare time in London pursuing new opportunities.

“I want to come back and share all my new ideas and experiences,” she said.

Tahlia Norrish will pursue acting in London.
