Dragon’s new lair

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Music -

FOLLOWING an international search and audition process with more than 200 candidates, the Colorado Symphony has appointed WASO assistant conductor Christopher Dragon as its associate conductor.

The rising young WA conductor is “very excited” about his new position.

“This would not have been possible without the support of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Services International and the Simon Lee Foundation,” Dragon said.

“Working with and learning from WA’s only professional orchestra and enjoying the close mentorship of chief conductor Asher Fisch has been a dream come true for me.

“I feel so fortunate to have been given this opportunity and know I would not be where I am today without it.”

Dragon will continue in the role of assistant conductor with WASO until the end of December.
