Event to show active wear goes anywhere
WEMBLEY Downs resident Lloyd Johnson will hit the catwalk after a game of barefoot bowls to showcase the most stylish sports-luxe wear this season has to offer.
The City Beach-based Aspire Group owner will be joined by seven of his trainers and about five clients, as well as former Australian polevaulter Amanda Bisk for the Karrinyup Active Living Lunch that is part of the Perth Fashion Festival.
Karrinyup Shopping Centre is celebrating the start of spring by launching its new season of active wear in a health and wellbeing-inspired event at the Mosman Park Bowling Club on September 13.
No longer confined to the gym, the looks from Running Bare, Lorna Jane and lululemon athletica aim to show active wear is just as suitable at a cafe, shops or seeing friends.
Mr Johnson said active wear had become more practical and wearable so people could go from a coffee or a meeting to the gym.
“As trainers, we’re able to live in that sort of gear all the time,” he said.
Centre marketing manager Claire Ridley said the event would be a celebration of fashion, health, wellbeing and positive living.
“We’re very pleased to be part of this year’s Telstra Perth Fashion Festival line-up and invite all healthy living devotees to come join us for this event,” Ms Ridley said.
“This is a fun and inspiring opportunity to take Karrinyup fashion into the outdoors and showcase the latest active wear ranges in an exciting new environment.”
The event will start at 11am. Tickets at www.ticketek.com.au.
