Bake-off com­peti­tors rise to the oc­ca­sion

THE newly ren­o­vated food and tex­tiles build­ing at St Hilda’s Angli­can School for Girls was put through its paces for the Great St Hilda Bake Off.

Year 11 stu­dents com­peted in the school’s first bake-off un­der com­pe­ti­tion con­di­tions.

Girls were given 40 min­utes to cook cup­cakes, muffins, pikelets scones or choux pas­try cases, with their best three sub­mit­ted for judg­ing.

The food and tex­tiles build­ing had pre­vi­ously been di­vided across the school cam­pus.

Win­ners were Bon­nie Tuck­ett in the cup­cake cat­e­gory, Sha­nia Cameron in the muf­fin cat­e­gory, Is­abel Row­ley in the pikelet cat­e­gory, Chiedza Chinyadza in the scone cat­e­gory and Re­becca Kempin in the choux pas­try cat­e­gory.

The over­all bake-off win­ner was Sha­nia Cameron.
