Kids delight in checking out this year’s Royal Show bags

TANE Perawiti and his Badgingarra Primary School classmates were the envy of children across WA when they road tested 311 Perth Royal Show bags in Claremont last Wednesday.

The showbags ranged from the new $1 Candy World to $280 for the deluxe Jean Pierre Sancho Macaron bag.

While most kids made a beeline for the sugar-laden show bags, 10-year-old Tane picked up bags from his favourite TV shows.

“I always watch Adventure Time because it’s very fun,” he said.

“There are a bunch of stickers and magnets in here that I haven't seen in shops or anywhere else.

“Now I’m deciding whether I should get the Big Bang Theory for my big brother, because he really likes it.”

Although it was a long three-hour bus trip from their Wheatbelt home to Claremont Showground, Tane said it was all worth it. “I've never even been to the Royal Show before,” he said.

New showbags include Frozen, Jurassic World, Perth Glory, Ben and Holly, Sukin Pamper Pack, Transformers and Zombi.

The Perth Royal Show runs from September 26 to October 3.
