DON’T TAKE VALUABLES TO THE BEACH

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Street Watch -

We had three incidents of stealing from cars at Cottesloe Beach when the temperature reached 31 degrees last week. This first hot day is just the start of the summer season when we experience thefts from cars at the beach because people bring their valuables when they go for a swim. These thefts are preventable. Do not take valuables to the beach or leave them in your car. Leave them at home. Police have dash mats for the public that say “no valuables left in this vehicle”. They are available at Cottesloe Police Station. Remember, theft of your iPod, mobile phone, wallet or credit card is more than a personal inconvenience. These stolen items are used in subsequent crimes, including fraud and the drugs trade. - Senior Sergeant Neil Morton-Smith.
