A SUSPICIOUS fire destroyed a Volvo station wagon at the workplace of its owner on Carrington Street at about 1.30am on September 5. “Fire fighters considered it to be suspicious because there was a shovel propping the bonnet open,” Senior Sergeant Murray Geneff said. The uninsured Volvo was used by its owner and an Armadale man to get to work. THIEVES took about 30m of valuable copper pipe from a Broome Street home between August 31 and September 3. “They stole all the external copper pipes from the premises,” Sgt Geneff said. The residents were away at the time of the robbery.
