YOUNG people with foetal alcohol spectrum disorder are more likely to end up on the wrong side of the law, according to the State Government. Acting Corrective Services Minister Liza Harvey said the life-long condition was a form of brain damage. The State Government released a statement last week saying it would spend $195,000 to fund research into the effects of maternal alcohol consumption. Ms Harvey said State Government funding would allow a clinic at the University of WA to conduct research, training and assessment in young people under 18.
