VIEWS SOUGHT ON CLAREMONT WAR MEMORIAL

Western Suburbs Weekly - - News -

TOWN of Claremont chief executive Stephen Goode has described the Claremont war memorial as “problematic”. Councillors approved community consultation for plans to relocate the Stirling Highway memorial at a meeting last week. Mr Goode said the council would seek ratepayer feedback by mail, online submission and advertising. The Town estimated consultation would cost $5000, $13,000 less than a traditional referendum. Deputy Mayor Bruce Haynes said online submissions were unlikely to be effective among older ratepayers.
