Dream role for Gill
RICHARD GILL, renowned for his expertise in music education, is guest music director of Benjamin Britten’s operatic version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
He joins director Rachel McDonald and awardwinning lighting designer Mark Howett in bringing Shakespeare’s play to life, performed by WAAPA classical vocal students and the Faith Court Orchestra
Gill was the founding dean of the WA Conservatorium of Music at WAAPA from 1985 to 1990, and founding music director and conductor emeritus of Victorian Opera.
His work in developing young musicians and creating opportunities is recognised worldwide.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream runs from October 12 to 17 at WAAPA.
