FOUR Hale School students represented WA at a national swimming competition last month.

Year 12 student Braga Verhage (17) and Year 10 students Ashton Brinkworth (15), Tom Cumming (15) and Julian Bulich (15) were selected to compete in the State Short Course Championships in Canberra from September 25 to 27.

Braga Verhage captained the team at the national event.

Hale head swimming coach Chris Guard said he was proud of the boys’ achievements.

“It was also great to see so many fantastic results, and for the Hale boys to be selected to represent Western Australia,” Mr Guard said.

Braga was one of the meet’s best performers, collecting four gold medals, including a new State Teams 50m butterfly championship record of 23.47.

The Hale School Swim Team won the inaugural Tregonning Cup earlier this year.
