Aunt Mary in article was no mystery

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Westernopinion -

IN the property review in the September 8 edition about 106 Railway Street, Cottesloe, it was reported that the name Aunt Mary’s was a mystery.

There was speculation that it might have been someone called Muriel. This is not so; the woman was Mary Gillespie who lived in the house for more than 50 years until her death in the 1980s, then her nephew Drew lived there and restored the house.

This information is in a 2008 newspaper clipping in the local history files of The Grove Library. Betty Lee, Cottesloe.
