Taking the cake
WAAPA Musical Theatre graduate Megan Kozak rose out of a cake seductively singing Happy birthday to Black Swan State Theatre Company (BSSTC) chairman Mark Barnaba last week.
The performance was good preparation for her upcoming role as Monica Lewinsky in the Australian premiere of Clinton The Musical and marked the 2016 season launch for BSSTC, which turns 25 next year.
Artistic director Kate Cherry took guests through the upcoming season that includes Picnic at Hanging Rock, Angels in America, The Caucasian Chalk Circle and Molieres Tartuffe the Hypocrite.
Hale School graduate Matthew Lutton returns to Perth to direct Picnic at Hanging Rock and recalled his role assistant directing as an 18-year-old at the Company’s former home, The Playhouse Theatre.
