Singer happy to be home
AFTER the whirlwind of The X Factor, songstress Reigan Derry is busy promoting her new single in Perth, but she still has time to stop and smell the wildflowers.
The Perth singer was excited to be home after living and working in Sydney for the past 10 years.
“I was just in Kings Park and it’s so beautiful. I love the flowers, the Geraldton waxes are amazing,” Derry said.
The singer-songwriter signed a record deal with Sony after her The X Factor stint ended one episode before the grand final and released a fivetrack EP, featuring her debut single All Of The Pieces, last December.
The 27-year-old still keeps in touch with her mentor, pop icon Redfoo and said life had been non-stop since signing with Sony.
“I was a full-time musician before The X Factor and for a long time after it was a full-time schedule,” she said.
“I’ve always been doing music and been involved in the industry and even when I wasn’t doing my solo project, I was writing for other artists.”
With an album due for release before March, Derry has finally found her groove.
“The music that I have been writing my whole life and the sound I have been creating have led me to this point and this moment where I’m able to work with the people that I want to and get something happening.”
Her latest single Feels like Heaven is out now.
Reigan Derry is enjoying being back in Perth after a decade living and working in Sydney.
