Cambridge Mayor Simon Withers says the Education Department needs to lock down a site for the new City Beach High School so parents can start planning for their children’s future education. Governments never plan ahead. Sure a few years back there was low student numbers but as people age they go elsewhere and younger people come back and many newer houses going up as well. They need to build the new one to left of Bold Park Pool where the pool will get people going to it. There are new local shops being built around the pool, so why not take advantage of that. That cut off road where it has a 70km/h speed they could place more shops along that upper side where i t’s needed. - Colin Stanley But they only closed the old City Beach High School in 2005.

- Marcia King Funny how the City Beach end of Cambridge gets all the major works. The West Leederville end is the poor cousin, apart from Julie Bishop’s West Leederville Primary School. We did get the narrowing of Cambridge Street. It cost local businesses huge amounts in takings, even forced businesses to close at the same time, moving local traffic passed the primary school and Lake Monger Drive. Who makes these decisions? - Peter Bastow
