Work to restore historic house not recognised
THE report in last week’s edition headlined “Digging up dirt on Dalkeith site” brought back memories of Gallop House when it was an abandoned and condemned wreck of a building in the 1960s.
Had it not been for the vision and foresight of Leslie and Bill Anderson and the arrangement they made with Nedlands council to restore the house to its former glory, the building would no longer exist.
It is unfortunate that there is no recognition anywhere of their efforts, and everyone seems to have forgotten their contribution.
That is sad. Buzz Craddock,
