Withheld war medals
ASSISTANT Minister for Defence Darren Chester announced veterans and their families can get forfeited military medals when he received a report on war service medals that were not issued this month.
Mr Chester said the Defence Honours and Awards Appeals Tribunal inquired into the withholding of medals from serving personnel from 1939 until now.
He said the Federal Government would consider the report, and while there was no record of those, and their families, who did not get medals, they should now contact the Department of Defence.
