FROM SOCIAL MEDIA

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Western Opinion -

A proposal for a $120 million Subi Surf Park at Subiaco Oval will be formally presented to the City of Subiaco and Planning Minister John Day. Looks great but wouldn’t want to have a unit next to it unless its sound proof.

-Colin Stanley What a nightmare.

-Natalie Spa Liking the originality in this proposed use for Subiaco Oval space and surrounding park. Once the oval and hospital leave, Subiaco is going to desperately need a reason for people to visit. - Luke Garratt The one in Wales is pretty quiet when operating, for a machine that moves tonnes of water. Sadly, I have this horrible feeling it’ll be a shopping mall instead... - Jeremy Johnson So who is going to pay for this? -Lisa Daly Keri Shannon was elected Mayor of the Town of Cambridge with 47.68 per cent of the total votes, while incumbent Simon Withers received 33.43 per cent of votes. The new council only came about due to Amendment 31, which they really should have done after the council elections as they must have known many wouldn’t want infill or high rise. As I understand it, Amendment 31 is in the hands of the minister who has still yet to make a decision. I get the feeling he was waiting to see who won the council election as to whether which way he’ll go. If he approves Amendment 31 then the Libs can kiss the Churchlands seat to an Independent Lib at the next State Election. The court case against Amendment 31 was postponed until December. Will be interesting to see if that progresses or fades away. I get the feeling we will still see high rise go up everywhere even with this new council. I voted Gary Mack and if there were more community-minded people who do community work like lifesaving I’d vote their way too. Will be interesting to see if anything really changes in the next four years. - Colin Stanley Anyone is better than silly Simon. - Peter Bastow
