Eff, skip, jump to love
EFFIE Stephanides has found her man and is finally getting hitched in stage spectacular, Effie – The Virgin Bride.
“Everyone is excited on my behalf and relieved no doubt, as am I,” Stephanides said.
“I was desperately looking for love for quite a while and that was pretty ugly, I have to say.
“Then at my lowest point a very spunky person from my past, who was the first boy I ever kissed at school, came and found me.
“He’d gone off and become a legend, and obviously I had too, and it was just the best thing that could have happened to me.”
Stephanides, of Wogs Out Of Work and Acropolis Now fame, said the union between her and “skip Shane” relieved her of the family pressure to tie the knot.
“Of course my parents wanted me to marry a Greek but the longer I took, the less they cared about the nationality,” Melbourne-based Stephanides said.
“My mother loves him, although I don’t know about my mother-in-law. “I think she’s quite perplexed by the attraction, but she’s been going through a hard time because Shane’s father left her for his secretary and she’s taken the bitter pill, hitting the white wines like it’s nobody’s business.
“Hopefully she’ll grow out of that and realise her son has never been happier and there’s no better woman for him than me.”
Stephanides said her wedding guests would be involved in her nuptials with the stage extravaganza featuring stories, speeches, music and audiovisual entertainment.
Dress code includes “boofy hair, because when youse go to a wedding youse want to look your best, especially if youse are single”.
And she did admit to already becoming quite the “wogzilla”.
“I’ve already cracked it over a few things and so I should, because I want it to be perfect,” she said.
“No doubt I’ll be very excited on the day but I’ll be nervous because I’ll have a big night ahead of me. ”
