Natalie Burton FOR the second time in under two weeks, the Perth Lynx took to the court against the strong and experienced Bendigo Spirit.

This time around, the game was played on our home ground with the Red Army back in full force at the Bendat Basketball Centre, also known to locals as 'The Lair’.

After a slow start for the Lynx, the second quarter saw them 10 points down, but not before a 13-1 run that helped them grasp the lead at halftime.

The Lynx continued to weather every storm Bendigo threw at them throughout the second half.

And after almost 40 minutes of physical and intense play, it looked like the Lynx might scrape a win.

However, after missing a number of easy shots within the last three tantalising minutes, the Lynx fell victim to the Spirit for the second time this season, beaten 67-73.

Amidst the frustration and disappointment of losing, it is clear that the Lynx have already made strides this early in the season after previously losing to Bendigo by 20 points.

As they say, the third time's a charm, and in less than two weeks time these teams will meet again, with the Lynx primed and ready for a win.
