Costarella now set in the city

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Fashion - with Desmond Eddy

CONGRATULATIONS to Aurelio Costarella, who has opened a city flagship boutique to house his ready-to-wear collection, never-before-seen couture pieces and unique homewares.

The space, created by interior designers Jack Tooley and Janet Keating of JKID, is contemporary and classic, highlighting Costarella’s penchant for juxtaposition by mixing materials and surfaces.

Soft metallic drapes, white marble, brass surfaces and sculptural plinths contrast with the soaring heritage ceiling offering a glimpse into the buildings past.

Dramatic windows flood the gallery space with natural light, drawing attention to each item in the collection and ensuring no piece goes unnoticed.

Homewares and accessories selected from around the world by the designer himself range from Tom Dixon candles to Arquiste perfumes and feature in a custom-designed niche next to the main boutique.

Costarella returned to retail in the city after a 21-year absence and said he chose the State Buildings location because of the project’s significance in WA history.

His lifetime passion for architecture and the way it creates a sense of place made this innercity locale the perfect stage to showcase his collections.

The Aurelio Costarella flagship store evokes the integrity imbued in all his designs, authentically displaying quality craftsmanship and a fine attention to detail in the beautifully developed retail concept boutique.

It is at G66-G68, Ground Floor, State Buildings, corner St Georges Terrace and Barrack Street, Perth.
