COTTESLOE DENTAL

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Local Focus -

RADIATION-free 3D scans for decay are available at Cottesloe Dental. The scans use new digital imaging fibre-optic trans-illumination (DIFOTI) technology, which uses a near infrared light to illuminate a tooth to diagnose decay.

“Decay between teeth can be missed using clinical examination alone, which is why X-rays are necessary,” dentist Dr Joshua Graieg said.

“Research has shown that DIFOTI is even more accurate than X-rays for picking up early lesions in the outer layer (enamel) of the tooth.

“Because it is radiation-free it is great for children and pregnant women and when teeth are being monitored they can be re-scanned whenever necessary.”

Dr Graieg is experienced in the technology and said he believed it was the most accurate way to detect and monitor early decay. Call 9384 1644.
