Reserved for the dead

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Western Opinion -

THE name of Mosman Park Men’s Shed founder Alf Snell cannot be used for a road to the community facility at Tom Perrott Reserve, McCabe Street because Mr Snell is not dead.

At last week’s council meeting, council staff said the State Government Geographic Names Committee would only accept the names of those who had been dead for at least two years.

The Men’s Shed wanted to name the road so emergency services and police could respond to a specific address. Councillors decided to recommend the Geographic Names Committee consider Perrott Close.
