Packed for Perth picnic
FORMER My Kitchen Rules finalist Luke Hines will make a fleeting visit to Perth to debut his new book Eat Clean all Year as part of the 140 Picnic on Thursday.
The event, celebrating the start of summer and the festive season, is free, family-friendly and will feature garden games and activities for children, retailer offers, live entertainment and foodie events throughout the Perth precinct.
Hines said he was looking forward to visiting Perth to share the new book, which focuses on clean and healthy recipes.
Similar to My Kitchen Rules judge Pete Evans, Hines practices the paleo way of eating and said clean eating was part of his life.
As part of the event the laneways of 140 will be transformed into urban greenery complete with astroturf, potted plants, trees and picnic spots.
Pop-up food stalls will be stationed around the precinct, with $5 offerings from Jamie’s Italian, East Village, Brotzeit, Bam Bam Boo, Ribs & Burgers and Koko Black.
All restaurants and retailers at 140 will be open late so patrons can visit The Aviary for a refreshing drink or finish with a sweet treat from Koko Black or Max & Sons.
Hines will also be signing copies of his book, which will be available from a pop-up stall at the event. He will also chat to patrons and fans from 12.30pm and take part in a VIP dinner that evening.
