FOR­MER My Kitchen Rules fi­nal­ist Luke Hines will make a fleet­ing visit to Perth to de­but his new book Eat Clean all Year as part of the 140 Pic­nic on Thurs­day.

The event, cel­e­brat­ing the start of sum­mer and the fes­tive sea­son, is free, fam­ily-friendly and will fea­ture gar­den games and ac­tiv­i­ties for chil­dren, re­tailer of­fers, live en­ter­tain­ment and foodie events through­out the Perth precinct.

Hines said he was look­ing for­ward to vis­it­ing Perth to share the new book, which fo­cuses on clean and healthy recipes.

Sim­i­lar to My Kitchen Rules judge Pete Evans, Hines prac­tices the pa­leo way of eat­ing and said clean eat­ing was part of his life.

As part of the event the laneways of 140 will be trans­formed into ur­ban green­ery com­plete with as­tro­turf, pot­ted plants, trees and pic­nic spots.

Pop-up food stalls will be sta­tioned around the precinct, with $5 of­fer­ings from Jamie’s Ital­ian, East Vil­lage, Brotzeit, Bam Bam Boo, Ribs & Burg­ers and Koko Black.

All restau­rants and re­tail­ers at 140 will be open late so pa­trons can visit The Aviary for a refreshing drink or fin­ish with a sweet treat from Koko Black or Max & Sons.

Hines will also be sign­ing copies of his book, which will be avail­able from a pop-up stall at the event. He will also chat to pa­trons and fans from 12.30pm and take part in a VIP din­ner that evening.
