Rotto boaters’ guide
ROTTNEST Island has new Department of Transport rules for the 500,000 visitors who use boats to get to the holiday destination each year. “The new free guide includes the recommended courses to be taken by boats into popular bays, and explains how navigation around the island has been made safer by recent work to upgrade and add markers that create more clearly defined channels into some of the bays,” DoT safety education co-ordinator Laurie Adams said. Among other things, cardinal navigation marks at Rocky, Stark and Marjorie bays are now lateral marks to reduce confusion. The guide is at www.transport.wa.gov.au/boatingguides.
