Golden gifts help those less fortunate

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Christmas -

HAWAIIAN, Foodbank WA and Anglicare WA have combined for the third year to collect and distribute food and presents to people in need this Christmas and in to the New Year.

The Gold Giving Boxes program that runs at several Hawaiian properties received enough donations last year to help more than 7000 people in need over the festive season.

This year, schools can get involved in the Gold Giving Box School Program that encourages students to consider and discuss why giving is so important, through an art activity.

Hawaiian chief executive Russell Gibbs said last year’s donations made a difference to many lives and they wanted to take the message further through initiatives such as the school program.

Gold Giving Boxes are open until December 24 when donations will be distributed to Foodbank WA and Anglicare WA.
