Surf club work at City Beach

CON­STRUC­TION work at the new City Beach Surf Life Club precinct is al­most com­plete.

The beach area, pub­lic ameni­ties and am­phithe­atre opened to the pub­lic in Novem­ber and the Odyssea Beach Café is ex­pected to open in late Jan­uary to cater for the latte set.

The op­er­a­tors of Rise pizze­ria and Hamp­tons bar are fin­ish­ing their de­signs and ex­pect to start their fit-out soon.

The Town of Cam­bridge ap­proved the am­bi­tious $18 mil­lion re­de­vel­op­ment at its De­cem­ber 2013 meet­ing.

Along with pub­lic ameni­ties and restau­rants, the de­vel­op­ment boasts three new pub­lic art in­stal­la­tions cre­ated for the Town by artist Anne Neil.
