Ned­dies boys love in­ter­na­tional stage

NED­LANDS Rugby Union Club’s un­der-11s team achieved backto-back vic­to­ries at the Cen­taurs Youth Rugby Tour­na­ment in Sin­ga­pore ear­lier this month.

The un­der-11s went through the tour­na­ment un­de­feated and kept the host Cen­taurs club score­less in the fi­nal, af­ter win­ning the un­der-10s cat­e­gory last year.

Ned­dies also had un­der-8s, un­der-10s and un­der-12s com­pet­ing at the tour­na­ment that is in its ninth year and at­tracts about 150 ju­nior teams from more than five coun­tries.

Many of the Ned­dies play­ers re­turned with me­men­tos af­ter cus­tom­ary jumper swaps with op­po­si­tion teams from dif­fer­ent coun­tries.

The Ned­lands club is now ar­rang­ing to host games from vis­it­ing Sin­ga­porean rugby teams at the Fore­shore.

The tour­na­ment suc­cess caps off a suc­cess­ful year for Ned­dies, who shared the 2015 Rug­byWA Steve Fink award for WA’s Best Ju­nior Club.

The un­beaten Ned­dies un­der-11s cel­e­brate backto back Cup wins at the Cen­taurs tour­na­ment.
