Blogger picks books to curl up with

FOR those planning to curl up with a good book this summer, one local book lover has put together a list of the must-read books to devour, whether it be soaking up the sun on the beach or enjoying the air conditioning on the couch.

Write Note Reviews blogger Monique Mulligan has gone from journalist to editor and now reviews books for Australia’s major publishers.

She said it was a way to combine two loves – reading and writing. “I have two blogs – one as a writer (in my name) and one as a reviewer,” she said.

“It can be busy, even overwhelming when you start, because it takes time and effort to build a credible profile, but I’ve become a lot better at managing my time.”

With 2016 set to provide even more amazing stories to sink the teeth into, Mulligan said she was most looking forward to reading Perth-based Natasha Lester’s A Miss for Mr Fitzgerald, Inga Simpson’s Where the Trees Were and Janita Cunnington’s The River House.

“I'm in awe of the talent that's within and emerging into the Australian writing scene,” she said. Visit www.writenotereviews .com and www.monique-mulli for more.
