Uni in nail-biter
SUBIACO Floreat pulled themselves off the bottom of the ladder with two wins, while University played out one of the games of the season to defeat Bayswater-Morley as the Premier Cricket competition resumed.
Chris Hansberry took 2-13 to bowl his side to victory against Midland-Guildford before taking three more wickets on Sunday to restrict Scarborough to 177 in pursuit of 275. Calum How scored 65 and 79.
University was outclassed on Saturday as Claremont-Nedlands cruised to victory at James Oval. Sean Stuart had a terrific start to his University career, taking 3-59.
Stuart then led his side to a victory on Sunday with 4-20, combining with the Students’ other left-arm spinner Nick Maiolo to bowl Bayswater-Morley out for 147.
The Students then reached the total in dramatic fashion, scoring the one run required with three balls remaining and nine wickets down.
