THE controversial Markets on Rokeby has postponed its 2016 reopening to March. Up to 14 Rokeby Road business owners met in November and December last year to discuss how the markets’ two-day road closure had damaged their trade. Bistro Felix director Tony Cariss said the market owners and operators Venn Property Group (VPG) needed to urgently review the weekend market’s layout, traffic management and operating hours. A City of Subiaco spokeswoman said VPG were “taking a break” to plan for the coming year. “The City continues to work with VPG, and looks forward to Markets on Rokeby returning bigger and better in 2016,” she said.
