COUNCIL NOD FOR ‘PARKLET’

Western Suburbs Weekly - - News -

VAN’S Cafe will get an al fresco dining “parklet” serving diners in a car bay-sized area on the pavement in Napoleon Street, Cottesloe. At their December 15 meeting, Cottesloe councillors approved the application’s request for a “mini park” to revitalise the street. In public comment, business lobby Procott supported the proposal but businesses Cimbalino and Motion Lifestyle adjacent to Van’s said the parklet would use a valuable parking space. However, council staff said planter boxes would create the dining space, which would not need planning approval because it was a temporary structure.
