Animals’ deaths are treated as numbers

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Western Opinion -

I HAVE been devastated to see the suffering of the cattle and sheep on board the live export ship that was stranded in unbearably high temperatures just off the coast for weeks.

A number of cattle and sheep died and the exporter said of the deaths that they normally happened on those types of voyages when livestock were loaded and tended to happen early on in the voyage while animals were settling down.

It makes me sick that these animals died while suffering and then it is treated as though they are just a number, a percentage.

I urge like-minded local residents to stand up and contact your local MP to voice your views on this barbaric trade of live animals.

We cannot bury our heads in the sand and forget about the suffering of these living creatures. Sherri Brazear, Mullaloo.
