It’s playtime for Toy Library

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Street Watch -

ALMOST $10,000 in Lotterywest funding will help provide new toys for the Wembley Toy Library.

The grant of $9554 will go to updating, refreshing or replacing up to 100 toys for parents to borrow.

Library president Tiffany Fox said toys designed to get kids active or help with their physical development were always popular.

“Being able to take home different toys every fortnight without having to buy them or store them once your child gets bored of them is a fantastic resource for families,” Mrs Fox said. “First and foremost, the toys have to be fun to play with, but if we can sneak in toys that can also help bolster children’s imagination, co-ordination or development, then that is even better.

“At the end of the day it is all about children having fun, without parents needing to spend a fortune on new toys and we are incredibly grateful to Lotterywest.”

The toy library, which is a not-for-profit volunteer run community organisation, will reopen on January 30.
