Walley’s Wel­come for theatre launch

OL­MAN Walley stepped in to per­form Wel­come to Coun­try at Bark­ing Gecko Theatre Com­pany’s 2016 launch at Bells Func­tions last week.

His dad Richard Walley was just down the road at the WACA watch­ing cricket.

Dun­can Ord, di­rec­tor gen­eral of the Depart­ment of Cul­ture and the Arts in WA, com­mended Ol­man on his fin­ish­ing hip-hop beat on the didgeri­doo.

Matt Edgerton said Dun­can had given him his first job in theatre.

Matt de­scribed his first gig at the Univer­sity of WA as an “OH and S night­mare”, with a prop split­ting his head open dur­ing a rainy show.
