Western Suburbs Weekly - - Quick News -

THE parents of Sarah Spiers have spoken of their anguish almost 20 years after their 18-year-old daughter went missing from Claremont.

In a statement, Don and Carol Spiers said time had not healed the loss of their daughter, who was last seen in the early hours of January 27, 1996.

“Words are inadequate to describe our personal loss and heartbreak,” they said. “It’s hard not to wonder what Sarah’s life, and ours, could have been had she not been taken from us.

“She was so full of life and had a great love of family.”

Mr and Mrs Spiers thanked their family and friends for their support.

“We also want to thank police for their support and for keeping us informed about the investigation,” they said.

“We have been disappointed in some media coverage on occasion in the past, and in particular, reports that have potentially misled public thinking and therefore jeopardised the ongoing investigation.”
