Charge sheet long after theft
SHEETS and bedding were the target of thieves who crashed their utility after they allegedly robbed Sheridan’s bedding outlet at the Claremont Quarter shopping centre, Claremont about 9am on January 4.
“It was as they drove off they they crashed into a boom gate, causing damage to its system,” Senior Sergeant Carole Vernon said.
It will be alleged two men were seen walking in the shopping centre about 8am, before the utility was seen being driven around in an underground carpark.
“It stopped outside the Sheridan showroom, then did a lap, before the men allegedly entered and stole numerous items including sheets and bedding,” Sgt Vernon said.
CCTV recorded the utility’s subsequent crash, and Fremantle-based detectives investigating similar robberies subsequently raided a Yangebup home, east of the port city, about 2pm the following day.
Two Yangebup men, aged 32 and 35, were both charged with a range of offences.
They were bailed to appear at Rockingham Magistrates Court on February 4.
