NEDLANDS Council continues to seek public comment on a proposal to close parts of Sayer Street and return it to a park despite news last week that the DHA would not redevelop the adjacent SAS Seaward Village in Swanbourne. “The City’s intention is to close Sayer Street from about 100m west of the intersection with Jameson Street, to about 100m east of the roundabout with Dune Court, and the area to be reinstated to its natural state,” Mayor Max Hipkins said. Comment can be made on the council’s Your Voice website from May 6 to 16, before a final decision is made on June 26.
