Eight arrested after three-day drug op
A BALDIVIS man (48) had methamphetamine allegedly to sell in Wembley and a Brookdale man (23) was allegedly carrying the drug in Subiaco when they were arrested separately on April 22.
The men were among eight arrested in the three-day operation during the Anzac Day long weekend.
“We directed our assets and resources to known locations of crime and got results,” Senior Sergeant Julie Foley said.
Sgt Foley’s Wembley-based officers targeted suburbs including Subiaco, Nedlands, Wembley and West Leederville at night.
It will be alleged the bailed Baldivis man had the drug to sell or supply when he appears in court at a later date, while the Brookdale man will be summonsed to appear in court on a date yet to be determined.
Police conducted about 120 traffic stops during the operation. Among other things, they stopped a vehicle which allegedly had drug paraphernalia, stolen credit cards and purses in it when it was searched in Monash Avenue, Nedlands on April 21. Further inquiries may lead to a charge.
