FORMER Perth College students Beryl Haneman (nee Fowler) and Marion Wood (nee Fyfe) recently enjoyed lunch where they would have once played tennis.

The women who went to PC from 1936 to 1941 and 1928 until 1937 respectively were among 40 Old Girls who attended a ‘Vintage’ Reunion for students who left PC before 1955.

The group had lunch in the Judith Cottier Theatre foyer, which used to be a tennis court.

At 94, Marion said her parents went through a lot to send her to PC during the Depression era. Beryl (91) returned to the school after graduating to work in the infirmary as a nurse.

Perth College was established in Mt Lawley 100 years ago but was first opened in 1902 in West Perth.
