All-abilities play boost
AN all-abilities play space planned for Beaton Park Reserve in Dalkeith has received $50,000 worth of donations towards the project at a community fundraiser.
The $4 million play space will be purpose-built to cater for people with disabilities.
The donations will be added to the $1.5 million already raised by local businesses and a Lotterywest grant.
West Perth Rotary Club past district governor Angus Buchanan said the event was a success and believed the additional funds would be raised for the project.
“After such a positive start, Rotary is confident that with community and corporate support, they can raise the funds required,” he said.
“It was a great evening full of goodwill and enthusiasm for the project. Guests were keen to spread the word about the project to the wider community.”
Construction of phase one of the play space is expected to begin in December.
