Long­est Lunch big in ev­ery re­spect

THE long­est ta­ble had 42 seats and there were 5984 glasses to wash up af­ter the sec­ond an­nual Perth’s Long­est Lunch at the Crown Grand Ball­room on Fri­day.

MC Shane Ja­cob­son kept the crowd of more than 800 peo­ple en­ter­tained for the six-hour, six-course event but also had a per­sonal ex­pe­ri­ence to share re­lat­ing to the peo­ple that bene­fac­tors Bright­wa­ter Care Group take care of.

Fol­low­ing Bright­wa­ter Part­ner­ships and Phi­lan­thropy ex­ec­u­tive man­ager Ian Craig’s story about clients deal­ing with Hunt­ing­ton’s dis­ease, Ja­cob­son re­vealed that his sis­ter Natalie had mar­ried into the world of the in­her­ited dis­ease.

The event raised $250,000 to bring a smile to Bright­wa­ter’s res­i­dents, clients and their fam­i­lies.
