The next Dig it with Coffee ses­sion is on Wed­nes­day, June 1. Join in to learn about us­ing na­tive plants for gar­den­ing and to have your trick­i­est gar­den­ing ques­tions an­swered by the Kings Park Vol­un­teer Mas­ter Gar­den­ers and a Kings Park hor­ti­cul­tur­ist. Free ses­sion is held at Zamia Cafe from 10am to 11am, and in­cludes a tour of the Back­yard Botan­i­cals Gar­den: a ‘grow-me-at-home’ demon­stra­tion gar­den to show just how sim­ple it is to grow WA na­tives. As part of Na­tional Arthri­tis Week, a pub­lic info ses­sion will be held at Arthri­tis WA in Shen­ton Park on Fri­day, June 3. Sport and ex­er­cise medicine physi­cian doc­tor Ar­jun Rao will speak about os­teoarthri­tis in the knee and the dif­fer­ent treat­ment op­tions avail­able to patients. The next Friends of the Univer­sity of Western Aus­tralia Li­brary talk will be held on Tues­day, June 14 at UWA Reid Li­brary 2nd Floor Con­fer­ence Room. Topic will be Kings Park – Some myths, leg­ends and a lit­tle history by doc­tor Dorothy Erick­son. Doors open 7pm, talk com­mences at 7.30pm. Mem­bers are free, $5 donation for guests.
