Dentist breaks down barriers for children
CHILDREN in Leederville received a lesson in oral hygiene in May by dentist Sarah Varma.
Dr Varma, from The Smile Clinique, educated 80 children throughout two sessions about good oral hygiene practices and healthy eating habits.
They also had a visit from the Tooth Fairy and learnt with teeth models how to best brush their teeth.
Dr Varma provided dental coats, gloves and masks to familiarise them with what they would encounter at the dentist.
“We hope to expand our reach over time and ensure that children in our community are well informed about their oral health and factors that can adversely affect it as well as providing them with positive experiences with dental health professionals.”
