Western Suburbs Weekly - - News -

ESSENDON Football Club tragic and now former Mosman Park chief executive Kevin Poynton got a rousing departure from staff, former colleagues, community and sports group members at the council last Thursday.

“After several false starts, we can now finally say 'bugger off!' ” Mayor Ron Norris said, with one of the many doses of humour at the event marking another transition in Mr Poynton’s career in the army, hospitals and local government.

Grateful staff wrote their often funny memories of Mr Poynton in a book and he was depicted as a footy sock-wearing Venus de Milo in his present from the council.

“The dogs barked and the caravan moved on,” Mr Poynton said.
