WINTER wed­dings on Rot­tnest Is­land will be more con­ve­nient, with the Rot­tnest Is­land Au­thor­ity pur­chas­ing a marquee for out­door cer­e­monies and re­cep­tions dur­ing cooler months.

Events and wed­dings co-or­di­na­tor Deone van der Westhuizen said the 20m x 10m marquee would give wed­ding par­ties an op­tion for beach­side cer­e­monies and re­cep­tions all year round.

“We’re grow­ing the range of op­tions for cer­e­monies, styling and hir­ing on Rot­tnest,” she said.

There are al­ready 40 wed­dings booked on the Is­land this year, with eight in Novem­ber.

“Septem­ber to mid-De­cem­ber is pop­u­lar… we have a wed­ding ev­ery week­end be­tween those months,” Ms Van der Westhuizen said.
