Car thief’s lucky day
A THIEF caught by a resident stealing from his car was released without police being called at a Johnston Street, Peppermint Grove home about 3.40pm on June 13.
“It was reported to us the thief told the resident ‘I’m sorry, I was desperate’,” Senior Sergeant Ton Booker said.
The resident had left his car in the driveway with keys in the ignition while unloading shopping bags.
“He came back out and noticed a man going through his car, with his iPad in his hand, searching the centre console,” Sgt Booker said. The thief rode off on his bicycle. The thief was described as having an olive complexion, slim, in his early 20s, wearing grey jumper trousers. a hooded and grey
