POLICE say a thief is targeting View Street. “Someone is specifically operating in that area, as we have had several incidents and burglaries in that street, so if anyone sees something suspicious, they must call us immediately,” Senior Sergeant Tony Booker said. In the latest crime, credit cards were taken from the glovebox of a car on the street between 3pm on June 19 and early the next day. They were used in at least six frauds of about $430 in Mosman Park and Fremantle the following day. CCTV captured a man described as Caucasian, in his early 20s, skinny, wearing baggy tracksuit trousers, dark clothing, a backpack and a baseball cap. A burglar stole jewellery worth $40,000 from a Hertsford Close home between 9am and 11.45am on June 22. “There was a first-floor balcony, and he climbed up to the unlocked door and searched the house,” Senior Sergeant Tony Booker said. The residents were not at home when the jewellery including watches, gold watches, diamonds and necklaces was taken.
