Bright future for shopping city artist

Western Suburbs Weekly - - Fashion -

WEST Perth artist Anisah Nasir is cementing herself as one to watch, with her latest installation unfolding at Lakeside Joondalup shopping city last week.

For more than 40 hours, she worked on the 13m by 4m abstract mural upstairs near H&M.

She was asked to brighten up the empty space that bridges the gap between the food and fashion malls.

“We were excited to engage up-and-coming local artist Anisah to work with the space to create something visually beautiful,” centre manager Gemma Hannigan said.

“The only brief was to make it bright, colourful and a feature that our customers would love. We’re delighted with the result.”

This is Nasir’s first large-scale installation.

Using acrylic paints, ink and resin to create her abstract works, she works largely with colour and interesting objects and spaces to create one-off pieces for clients.

She recently completed commissions for Baltinas Architecture’s Halo on Mount apartments and the newly opened Palette Nails Stylist in Subiaco.
